Norsok approval

Aperam has received NORSOK approval (M-650 & M-630) for its DX2507 (EN 1.4410/ASTM S32750) superduplex grade in flat stainless steel products (up to 8mm thick in 1.5m wide for hot-rolled coils and sheets and up to 5.6mm in 1.5m wide for cold-rolled material). 

Industrial projects

We offer an extensive range of duplex stainless steel, including the NORSOK-qualified DX2507, DX1803, and DX2205 grades. Available as flat products and in dimensions up to 10 mm thick and 2 m wide, all our duplex products come backed by our in-depth knowledge and industry-leading expertise.

Desalination – Aperam supplied 3,000 tons of DX2304 to Sidem’s subcontractors.

To meet its targeted fresh water capacity, Kuwait’s Az Zour North thermal desalination plant required the construction of 10 evaporators. For this, they turned to Sidem (Veolia Group) and a leading specialist in the design of thermal desalination technologies. The company’s Multi-Effect Distillation technology uses DX2304, which offers high mechanical properties and gives the user the ability to adjust the duplex grade based on in-use aggressiveness.

Container for mining

At the ArcelorMittal João Monlevade operations in Brazil, Aperam has proposed using stainless cable buckets for mining operations. With a frame made from a 410 grade, the buckets have seen an increase in durability and a decrease in maintenance cost over their carbon steel counterparts. Because stainless is 30% thinner than carbon, the weight of the buckets has decreased, thus lessening the risk of derailment.
