Applications

Shielding

High nickel magnetic alloys for shielding applications Alloys

Shielding

Offering very low magnetic coercivity and a wide range of saturation values, our high nickel magnetic alloys allow to better concentrate magnetic field – making them the material of choice for shielding applications.

Thermocouple sensors

The material of choice for thermocouple sensors

Thermocouple sensors

Thermocouple sensors are used to measure and control temperatures. They are created using various combinations of alloys, with each combination offering different atmospheric characteristics, temperature range and physical properties. By providing a wide range of stable alloys, Aperam can meet the exact special limit and offset requirements of your thermocouple sensor application.

Cables

The material of choice for telecommunication cables

Cables

Alloys play an essential role in the cables used to transfer data and electronic information. For example, clad metals made from steel or copper can be used as a shielding strip on buried telecommunication cables. Not only do these alloys help reduce signal attenuation, their strength and corrosion resistance ensure long-term durability.

Filtering function in converters and inverters

Compact cores for high performing filters used in converters and inverters

Filtering function in converters and inverters

Our compact cores help meet the design and assembly requirements of filters used in converters and inverters. Our NANOPHY Cores for Common Mode Choke (CMC) attenuate noises in the very high frequency range (up to 100 MHz) with good temperature stability. Our Kµ Cores for Differential Mode Choke (DMC), produced with a patented process, attenuate noises in high current range (up to 300 Amps) with excellent temperature and frequency stability.

Electrical safety devices

An essential element in electrical safety devices

Electrical safety devices

The magnetic cores and stamped parts used in electrical safety devices like MCBs and RCCBs help protect users against the fault current. Our clad metals, which include copper cladded steel and copper cladded aluminum, are an essential element in these devices’ conductive parts.

Heating elements

A range of alloys for heating applications

Heating elements

Aperam offers alloys geared towards heating applications. For example, our GILPHALs offer a higher resistivity and higher surface load compared to austenitic alloys. Our GILPHYs have excellent behavior in a hot state, thus increasing oxidation resistance and providing good ductility. Finally, our copper-Ni alloys are resistant to corrosion and benefit from low resistivity, high thermal conductivity and good formability and weldability.

Low & medium voltage switchgear

Clad products for low and medium voltage switchgears

Low & medium voltage switchgear

Our clad products are used in a range of switchgear devices that protect, control and isolate electrical equipment, including circuit breakers, fuses and switches.

Current sensors

Nickel alloys for current sensor technologies

Current sensors

Our nickel alloys are renowned for their high precision and very low offset. That’s why they are the material of choice for current sensor technologies, including Hall effect sensors, fluxgates and current transformers.

PERMIMPHY, a magnetic alloy for shielding applications

Have you heard about PERMIMPHY? It’s Aperam’s nickel-iron soft magnetic alloy for shielding. Offering such characteristics as high permeability, stress resistant, and very low magnetic loss, it’s the material of choice for shielding rooms, current sensors, transformers, and the cores of earth leakage circuit breakers – to name just a few of its shielding applications.

Parts for e-mobility solutions

We meet critical functionality requirements of the key elements of E-Vehicles (Fully Electric, Plug-In or Hybrid) and Charging Stations. We have expertise in processing multiple material systems – magnetic alloys (Nickel and Cobalt alloys produced by Aperam Alloys Imphy), nanocrystalline material, resistance alloys, thermocouple alloys, clad metals, bimetals, stainless steel, etc.
