K41X – 1.4509

Our KARA range. The “X” means that this 18% chromium titanium-and niobium-stabilized Ferritic Stainless Steel is ideal for exhaust applications.

Main features

Good weldability; ease of forming; good resistance to corrosion (in cold part of exhaust systems), pitting corrosion, and high temperature oxidation (up to 950°C); enhanced hot mechanical properties (without risk of σ phase formation at intermediate temperatures); greater thermal conductivity and lower expansion coefficient than austenitic grades.
