IMPHY®N42 E: The Iron Nickel Controlled Expansion Alloy for Chemical Etching Manufacturing
As worldwide demand for semiconductor chips continues to increase, so does the demand for Aperam’s PERMIMPHY – the alloy used to shield wafer fab production equipment.
Across all industries, there is a strong demand for miniature, extremely complex electronic devices. This trend represents a real challenge for material suppliers, who must meet these increasing quality requirements. For example, the performance of the metal used must be significantly improved as even the smallest surface defect can lead to critical problems. To make matters even more challenging, all increases in quality must be achieved in a cost-efficient manner.
How it Works
Chemical Etching is a high precision subtractive microfabrication process that uses baths of temperature-regulated etching chemicals to selectively remove material (a thin slice of semiconductor known as wafer) to produce high precision metal parts in any desired shape. Etching is also known as Chemical Milling, Photo (Chemical) Etching, Electrochemical Etching, Photo (Chemical) Milling, Photo Chemical Machining, and Industrial Etching.
The IMPHY® N42 E Advantage
Our IMPHY® N42 E alloy plays an essential role in producing the miniature, ultra-precise, small and lightweight electronic components that our Internet of Things (IoT) enabled smart devices need.
