One Aperam: Four Segments, One Vision
Following its spin-off from ArcelorMittal in 2011, Aperam has undergone a significant transformation – from a company focused primarily on stainless steel to a vertically integrated and more diversified producer. Today, our activities span stainless, electrical, alloys and specialty steels, as well as recycling and renewables, reflecting a broader approach to meeting the evolving needs of our customers and markets. This transformation demanded a stronger vision – one that reflects not only who we are today but who we aspire to be in the next decades.
This evolution has also reshaped how we think and operate. As our activities have grown more diverse and interconnected, we recognized the need for a unified direction that brings coherence to our business and purpose. That’s why we have embraced a new vision: we are committed to establishing Aperam as the leading value creator in the circular economy of infinite, world-changing materials. This vision is not just aspirational – it guides the way we organize, collaborate, and innovate across our operations. By aligning our four business segments under the One Aperam approach, we are strengthening connections across the value chain, from production and services to recycling and renewables. This integrated model enables us to contribute more meaningfully to a circular economy by improving resource efficiency, extending material life cycles, and supporting our customers in reaching their own sustainability goals.
A Story of Collaboration: One Value Chain, Many Strengths
Imagine a world where materials flow seamlessly from one stage to another, continuously recycled and reinvented. That is the story of One Aperam.
Stainless & Electrical Steel: The Backbone of Our Circular Vision
In our European facilities, we produce high-quality stainless steel, with over 80% of our input coming from recycled scrap. But where does that scrap come from? Our Recycling & Renewables segment ensures a steady supply, creating a loop where materials never go to waste. In South America, where we produce Stainless and Electrical steel, we take it further, using sustainable bio-charcoal from our own FSC-certified forests to reduce reliance on fossil fuels. This commitment to sustainability is why we were the first stainless steel player in Europe and the first special flat steel producer in Latin America to receive ResponsibleSteel™ certification.

Services & Solutions: Connecting Innovation to Customer Needs
Steel alone doesn’t drive progress – its applications do. Our Services & Solutions segment bridges the gap between production and the end user, distributing our products efficiently and tailoring them to industry needs. With 14 steel service centers, 4 transformation facilities, 15 sales offices, and the largest stainless e-commerce platform outside China, we ensure that our customers – from construction to automotive – have seamless access to the materials they need. Our digitalization and automation efforts make transactions smoother, reinforcing our position as a modern, agile business.
Alloys & Specialties: Pushing the Boundaries of Performance
At the heart of innovation is our Alloys & Specialties segment, where we design and produce high-performance materials for the most demanding industries, including aerospace, automotive, and welding. Our advanced hot rolling mill at Aperam Alloys Imphy site in France, coupled with our further global expansion in Europe, India, China, as well as the acquisition of Universal Stainless & Alloy Products, Inc in the U.S., optimize operational efficiency, enhance synergies between regions, and strengthen Aperam’s position as a leading supplier of high-performance materials.

Recycling & Renewables: The Engine of Sustainability
Our Recycling & Renewables segment ensures that Aperam stays ahead of the curve in sustainability. ELG, as part of Aperam Recycling segment, operates in over 50 locations, securing high-quality scrap and optimizing raw material supply. Recyco, Aperam’s subsidiary that turns industrial residues into reusable materials, while BioEnergia, our Forest management company in Brazil, provides sustainable bio-charcoal, reducing our environmental footprint. By offering closed-loop solutions Aperam strengthens its partnerships while advancing the circular economy.
Leading the Value Creation
Aperam’s strong commitment to R&D and innovation is at the heart of our ambition to become a leading value creator in the circular economy of infinite, world-changing materials. The development of Aperam infinite™, our near-zero carbon footprint stainless steel, exemplifies this vision – delivering enhanced sustainability credentials that align seamlessly with circular economy principles.
Our pioneering collaboration with Osium AI is accelerating the development of advanced alloys, optimizing material performance for critical applications while opening faster pathways to novel and potentially “world-changing” materials. Meanwhile, our partnership with RWTH Aachen University, particularly in the area of the hydrogen economy, reflects Aperam’s dedication to innovating materials that are essential to a sustainable future.
Practical innovations – such as our stainless steel concrete mixer – highlight our efforts to extend product lifecycles and reduce material waste in industries like construction. Through continuous investment in R&D, a focus on high-performance and durable materials, and the adoption of cutting-edge technologies, Aperam is not just aspiring but actively creating real value in the circular economy. We are moving beyond aspiration towards establishing ourselves as a true leader in this transformative space.
One Culture: The Force Behind One Aperam
The synergy between our segments and R&D isn’t just about strategy – it’s about mindset. The One Aperam culture is built on collaboration, innovation, and responsibility. By breaking the barriers and encouraging cross-segment cooperation, we foster an environment where ideas flow freely, and solutions emerge organically. This culture is what enables us to integrate seamlessly, ensuring that our materials, expertise, and people work together to shape a better world. By continuing to invest in sustainable technologies, strengthening our recycling capabilities, and deepening our segment unity, we aim to set the benchmark for a responsible and resilient steel industry.
