Aperam publishes its Sustainability Report

Luxembourg, 8 May 2013 – Aperam, a leading global producer of stainless and speciality steel, has published its second Sustainability Report today. The report outlines the Company’s sustainabiliy performance and its record and policies in areas such as safety, people, communities, environment, as well as the contribution of the Company’s products to society.

Aperam's Sustainability Report adheres to the Global Reporting Initiative 3.1 guidelines. The Report has been assured by audit firm Deloitte with regards to compliance with this protocol, including selected performance data such as customer satisfaction surveys, lost time frequency incident rate, consumption of direct energy and direct CO2 emissions. This year's Report highlights how Aperam responds with agility to the current uncertain economic environment through customer orientation, and how this approach contributes to the Company's economic sustainability.

Aperam's drive to reducing its carbon intensity is documented in this report, with, in particular, the recent adoption by the Company of an intensity reduction target of 35% by 2020 vs. 2007.
